Zoe’s Trek Around the World – Trinidad


Zoe is almost home, but first she’s going to stop in Trinidad.  As always, her journal will tell your unit about her adventures in Trinidad.

To complete the Trinidad challenge you must complete four activities (active, creative, cultural, guiding) and including options like playing baseball or cricket, making sandcastle snow globes, trying Trinidadian food such as corn soup, doubles or pelau and learning about The Girl Guides Association of Trinidad and Tobago. If you have completed the whole set of challenges with your unit, don’t forget to finish with Zoe’s last journal entry as she arrives home in Vancouver.

Zoe’s Trek Around the World – Brazil

Our next stop with Zoe is in Brazil.  In Brazil you once again have to complete four activities, (active, creative, cultural, guiding) and include options like making costumes for Carnival, learning to play Bamboo Bottle Cap Bounce, Samba Dancing and learning about Guides in Brazil.Detailed activity guide can be found here (member zone login may be required).

Zoe’s Trek Around the World – France

Zoe’s heading to France now that she is finished in Kenya.   She continues to journal about her adventures there.

To complete your own French adventures  you must complete four activities (active, creative, cultural, guiding) and including options like trying out tennis, making your own impressionist paintings, tasting french food, dressing in french fashion and learning about the differences between Guides in France and Canada. Following New Zealand, Zoe is off to Kenya.  Her journal will tell you about her adventures there.

Zoe’s Trek Around the World – New Zealand

After China, Zoe’s next stop is New Zealand. You can read about her adventures in New Zealand in her Journal before starting your own adventures.  To complete the challenge you must complete four activities (active, creative, cultural, guiding) and include options like learning about Rugby, Poi, learning about Maori culture and Girl Guides in New Zealand. Zoe’s Trek Around the World – China

Zoe from the Cross Canada Challenge, continues her adventures in the Trek Around the World Challenges.  You can do these challenges either individually or treat them as a connected story. If you are planning to to do the whole set of challenges you will want to start in Vancouver with Zoe planning her adventure, packing her bags and starting her journal.

Then Zoe’s first stop is in China.  You can read about Zoe’s adventures in her journal before having some of your own. The challenge requires four activities (active, creative, cultural, guiding) and include options like trying Tai Chi, learning about feng shui (room design), eating with chopsticks, making moon cakes and learning about Guiding in Hong Kong. Cross Canada Challenge

Canada Day is coming soon.  The Cross Canada Challenge  is a national challenge and contains many ideas for Canadian themed activities.  The challenge comes in five parts:

  • O Canada
  • The Territories
  • Atlantic Canada
  • Central Canada
  • Westurn Canada

Each section has activities for each branch (often divided by province) and a different crest so they can be worked over time.
