Marco Polo is a call and response game that is often played in shallow water but can also be played on land. One girl is selected as “it”. She closes her eyes or is blindfolded (blindfolds should only be used on land). She calls out “Marco” and all the other players must call out “Polo”. Then she can use the sounds of their voice to try and tag them. When someone is tagged they become the new it.
The traditional version of this game is named for the 13th century Italian explorer. But it is easily modifiable to fit other themes. Just pick a different call and responses to fit your theme.
