Backwards Meeting

Here’s a way to mix things up… have your meeting backwards.

Start with Taps and your normal closing. Then work though your meeting backwards with campfire, some program work, a game, then your units opening.

This can make a less interesting meeting a little more fun.

  1. We’ve done something similar in our unit here in Scotland. The Guides are well used to marching into a horseshoe, but found it challenging to march backwards out of one! Making upside-down cake was something new to them, and they found it interesting to start a hockey match at 3-3, and be challenged to be the first to score enough goals to take their score to 0. Several wore uniforms back to front and at the end we sang taps with the words in reverse (nigh is God, rest safely . . .)
